Real Madrid is ready to offer its striker Cristiano Ronaldo new financial terms for his contract; however, they seem not to have met the footballer's demands, according to a Spanish daily sports newspaper.
Los Blancos hadn't proposed the arrival of the Brazilian to occupy the Portuguese's place, but the public declarations of Ronaldo has completely changed his future outlook at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Madrid FC in 2009 and essentially led his team to four prestigious La League titles.
The Portuguese worldwide helped Real Madrid to four UCL titles in the last five years, and the EURO16 win with Portugal has made him one of the best players the game has ever seen.
How could Ronaldo become so desperate to quit Madrid all of a sudden, though?
Nasser Al Khelaifi, chairman of PSG, has always wanted to have Ronaldo on his team and now, faced with Portugal's declared intent to seek another destination, the wish of the leader and the state of Qatar could come true.
"I have my opinion but I will keep it for myself", he said.
"Madrid have also given him a lot in terms of prestige and that has also helped him to win individually".
This effectively ends any chance of Ronaldo leaving Europe this summer, with the forward set on playing in either Serie A, Ligue 1 or the Premier League.
Likely in reference to stalling contract negotiations with Real, the report says his strained relationship with Perez stems from "broken promises and a lack of support".
However, the Spanish top flight's president feels the league would recover from the loss of Ronaldo, although he does not want to see the 33-year-old go.
Ed Woodward, however, has no interest in being drawn into the same wild goose chase of 12 months ago when Ronaldo created a similar situation. We don't know, but we're already looking forward to next summer's edition.
