The Tamil Nadu Board Directorate of Government Examinations (TNBDGE) declared its class 12th examination results on its official website. The evaluation process for class 10, 12 board exams had begun on April 12, 2018.
Tamil Nadu school education minister KA Sengottaiyan today announced the class 12 result. Last year, DGE Tamil Nadu had declared the results in May 2017. Compared to previous year, the pass percentage is decreased by one percent. Students can also check their TNDGE Class 12 examinations results at dge1.tn.nic.in. Not only this, the board has also witnessed a decline in the number of students registering and appearing for the examination. The number of girls appeared for the exam was roughly 15 per cent (60,582) more compared to the boys.
The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu is scheduled to declare the Higher Secondary Class (HSC)/Class 12 results on 16 May.
Students who have not secured the pass mark can re-appear for their exams on June 25. Students anxious to see their results face a lot of difficulty at that time.

For the last academic session of 2016-17, the HSC Class 12 results were released on May 12, 2017. It said 1,171 students scored over 1,180 out of 1,200 marks.
The Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education was established in 1910, and later after Independence was carved out as and separate Directorate of Government Examinations under the Department of Education, Government of Tamil Nadu. The scores from the class 12 board examinations are used by universities to determine eligibility and as a cut-off for admissions into their programmes.
