The series joins a scripted slate for Freeform that includes Siren, The Bold Type, Shadowhunters, Grown-ish, Alone Together, and Famous in Love, as well as the upcoming series finales of The Fosters and Young & Hungry. The show, based on the book of the same name by Sara Shepard, is expected to premiere its 10-episode first season on the network in 2019.

Connecting The Perfectionists to the Pretty Little Liars brand is a savvy move that will automatically bring in an established audience and help cut through the cluttered landscape. The franchise has everything: pretty people, liars, and of course, murder. Deadline reports Freeform has picked up the spinoff TV series Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.
