The announcement doesn't say anything about Amazon selling the phone in the United States, but the company will reveal more details on Wednesday about its worldwide OnePlus 6 launch plans.
Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is all set to launch its much-teased flagship smartphone OnePlus 6 globally today.
"OnePlus 6's glass design is centred around creating a "sense of value" and "premium hand-feel" and the glass back contains five printed layers of "Nanotech Coating", a first in the smartphone industry", Pete Lau, had earlier said in a blog post. It is said to flaunt 6.2-inch full HD+ (2160x1080p) screen with 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch, which is said to house a front camera with facial recognition feature.
For the past one month, OnePlus has been highly active on social media, releasing several teasers as well as an explainer for design and building materials used in the new OnePlus 6.
Another Apple inspiration for OnePlus would be iPhone X-like gestures on OnePlus 6.
While the rear side features 20MP and 16MP dual camera sensors, the front-facing camera features a 16MP sensor with enhanced capabilities.
In short, after some beta testing (OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 5) in the past two years, OnePlus did launch the OnePlus 3T with an improved chipset, a larger battery and a bumped up selfie camera and a OnePlus 5T with a drastically improved display and slightly better camera. Once they have got the gift card, then they can purchase their OnePlus 6 between May 21 to May 22. It has also partnered with Amazon in India to sell the flagship on the same date.
The company will also be hosting pop-up events across 8 Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ahmedabad between 21-22 May 2018. The base model (6GB RAM+64GB storage) is expected to cost Rs 36,999. While the price of the phone is expected to start around Rs 35,000, the variant with the 256GB may end up coming with a price tag that is close to Rs 45,000. There is no word on third variant (8GB RAM + 256GB storage), but going by the aforementioned price pattern, it is most likely to be priced Rs 42,999. In India, apart from launching the OnePlus 6, the company will also launch the OnePlus 6: Avengers Infinity War Edition that is expected to come with a different finish compared to what users will get on the regular OnePlus 6. We will know the exact price after the official launch.
