Fan outcry arose over the weekend when it was reported Crawford was being released from the TV adaptation of the popular buddy-cop franchise for his on-set behavior while producers scrambled for a replacement. Wayans is now speaking out about just how intense their interactions were on set, sharing a graphic video showing the actor being struck in the back of the head with a piece of shrapnel as well as several tweets detailing Crawford's erratic, unsafe behavior.
The actor also posted a photo of a pole with a printed out photo of Crawford on it. "Clayne Crawford is an emotional terrorist", the poster read. To reiterate this point, Damon went on to post a photo of the back of his head after shooting the scene, and it shows a small, bleeding cut on the left.
The Lethal Weapon actor also shared an incident where Crawford was violent on set, stating, "He hit another actor in the mouth with a bottle of green tea and busted his mouth open".
As for Crawford's reaction to the firing, he has expressed gratitude for all the fan report he has received in recent weeks. Wayans has since made his Twitter account private, but ConsquenceOfSound managed to grab screenshots before that.
Deadline reports that the show, which was under threat of not coming back, was renewed after Seann William Scott was announced to join the cast to take over a role opposite of Wayans by playing the brother of Martin Riggs.
Crawford was sacked from the show last week, following accusations of behavioural issues on set, following which disciplinary action was taken against him.
Wayans, 57, made the allegations on Twitter Monday night time after the Fox sequence was renewed for a 3rd season and Crawford's alternative introduced. "Good Luck nxt season!" "And struck fear in cast and crew #dontblameme". He said the first came when he "reacted in anger over working conditions that did not feel safe" and had since apologized; the second, he wrote, stemmed from "an unfortunate event that happened in spite of all safety precautions and procedures being followed". I met with Human Sources, I apologized individually of the battle, and I accomplished studio-appointed remedy. He then said he took responsibility for the incident.
