That show, from Warner Horizon Scripted Television, comes from "Gotham" executive producer/writer Bruno Heller and executive producer/director Danny Cannon, and premieres in 2019.
Next season's Arrowverse crossover event is going to feature an even bigger kick-ass lineup of DC comics superheroes. Over the past few years, fans have gotten to see multiple incarnations of Batwoman across DC Comics, most recently in her own solo series, and as a leading member of Bombshells United. Today we got to find out what that announcement was, was as Amell followed through at The CW's upfront presentation, announcing that Batwoman will be a part of the station's annual crossover event, THR reports. "For the very first time appearing, we'll be fighting alongside Batwoman, which is terrific". When DC Comics released its New 52 comics, Batwoman got the reimagining treatment; she's now known as Kate Kane, and is a Jewish lesbian with romantic connections to Maggie Sawyer (who's actually played by Floriana Lima on Arrow).
Batwoman, aka Kate Kane, is one of several vigilantes who protect Gotham. Kathy created the persona of Batwoman to win the Caped Crusader's affection. She would reappear in the '70s, but was eventually killed off for good. Arrowverse continues to be far more successful than DC's movies, so maybe they will allow more of their characters to be featured here.
But let's talk about Batwoman herself. It's written by Marguerite Bennett, with pencils by Fernando Blanco, Steve Epting, and Stephanie Hans. He went on to reveal "We are adding the city of Gotham into the Arrowverse", he confirmed. We're looking forward to it!
