According to a police report obtained by the site, Krista Glover physically attacked her golfer husband and called him a "p*ssy" and a "loser" over his failure to rank at the Players Championship held at TPC Sawgrass, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, on May 10 through 13.
The 2009 U.S. Open champion, Glover shot a 78 Saturday in the third round of the Players.
Lucas told police that "every time he plays poorly in a tournament, Krista begins yelling at him, stating he is a "loser" and a 'p--'". Deputies noted lacerations on the arms of both Lucas and his mother, Hershey Glover, who also had blood on her clothes. However, Glover also wanted to apprise his father-in-law of "how she was treating" the golfer, and Glover described the insults his wife would hurl at him when he didn't play well, as well as how she would tell him "he needs to fire everyone" and "how he better win or her and the kids would leave him and he would never see his kids again". Each charge carries a sentence of up to a year in jail.
Cops also say Krista kicked the squad auto so hard, the door separated from the frame.
Glover released a statement on Twitter Tuesday: "On May 12, my wife and mother were involved in an argument to which the police were called".
Lucas informed officers that Krista had been drinking.
"Wait till the tour hears about this", Krista reportedly said. Both Lucas Glover and his mother had visible injuries after she intervened to stop the altercation. Hershey said in her statement to police that she tried to stop an "altercation" between the couple at which point Krista began "striking Hershey in her arm". "You will lose your job". This is why cops get shot in the face. "Wait till I talk with the judge, you will be f-king fired over this".
The deputies wrote in their report she resisted them and refused to get into the back seat of a squad auto by trying "to tense her body and blocking herself from sitting down in the vehicle".
Glover confirmed Monday on Twitter that an "argument" had occurred, saying, "Everyone is fine".
Glover and his wife have two children, a daughter who turned 5 on Monday and a 2-year-old son.
