"As pioneers in this Blockchain sector, we have been in the front-line looking to work with companies like Ripple in building a credible crypto ecosystem".
Ripple, the blockchain-based payment network, has invested $25 million of its XRP cryptocurrency into Blockchain Capital Parallel IV, a fund that will invest in blockchain ventures. The vast majority of XRP is still owned by the company, and Ripple fully intends to invest more of its seemingly limitless supply of cryptocurrency into other funds. The latter is limited to accepting contributions only in cryptocurrencies. For startups to become successful, Blockchain Capital will provide all required resources.
"There are entire verticals - such as healthcare or identity management - that could benefit from blockchain or distributed ledger technology", said Blockchain Capital's co-founder Stephens. XRP the cryptocurrency developed by Ripple is used by traders as a popular crypto asset for trading.
With a view to put to end all the talks around recent Coinbase rejection to add XRP to its platform due to questions over its status, Ripple's chief market strategist Cory Johnson expressed his firm position: "We absolutely are not a security". "If somebody starts the next Uber, or Instagram or Salesforce using XRP, that would be great for us, " Johnson said.
"We want smart people and smart entrepreneurs, who can solve a problem using Ripple".
Johnson concedes in the CNBC interview that if the next breakthrough startup is using XRP that it's going to boost the company valuation. "We plan to be major players in shaping the future generation of blockchain or crypto companies". Share your views in the comments section.
