Twitter users also found fault in the magazine's apparent Photoshopping.
One user said, "That is #Bellahadid? #Gigihadid #VOGUE #NewVogue #britishvogue".
Some also thought the covers looked photoshopped, especially Bella's face.
However despite the backlash, the girls celebrated their dual covers by sharing them on their social media accounts.
But for British Vogue's latest double cover issue, Gigi and Bella Hadid stuck together - and stripped down - to show off their skills.
The image was photographed by Steven Meisel, famous for photographing Madonna for her book Sex and known for using nudity on Vogue covers.
In the stunning image the sisters are seen with wet, tousled hair while Gigi wraps her legs around her younger sibling.
The blond beauty might not flaunt her riches - at least not all the time - and has described herself as an old lady, saying, "I'm kind of a grandma, so I like cooking for my boyfriend and watching a movie. I would do anything for her".
This month, Fox News interviewed Yolanda Hadid who said that the secret behind her daughters' success is their authentic and good personalities. She continued, "When my girls started, I sat them down and I said, 'Listen, there are a million girls out there who are as attractive as you and deserve success as much as you do".
Yolanda recently told PEOPLE, "I ask my kids every day, 'God has provided you with this platform, what are you going to do with it?'" She said, "It's not about posting pretty selfies. You have to be the hardest working girl and show people you care about everybody'".
They rocketed to fame as Hollywood offspring, but now boast impressive portfolios of globally-renowned modelling work, despite having only just hit their twenties.
