"I was Bhutan and when I got reception in the hotel, there was this mass of tweets [about Bake Off's final] and one said "Don't forget to congratulate the winner", she explained.
She went on to explain that when she switched her phone back on, she had received a message reminding her to tweet the victor after 10.30 - and looking at the time thought she should do it straight away, forgetting about the time difference.
"Prue shares, 'I was in Bhutan and had not had any reception for a while so when I turned on my phone and there was reception there was a mass of tweets and one of them said 'don't forget to congratulate the victor after 10.30".
"I thought, "Oh my God", and I went into a panic mode where I couldn't work my phone", she continued. When asked by the presenters how she felt after tweeting the victor of the bake of to early she said she felt suicidal!
"Sophie has worked so hard for months and months and the column inches would be filled with my mistake than her hard work".
Prue Leith, a judge on The Great British Bake Off, has said she said she felt "awful" and "suicidal" after realising she had accidentally revealed the victor of the Channel 4 baking contest on Twitter before the final result was announced.
Prue's quirky outfit also got viewers talking as she appeared in a full length burgundy robe and bright yellow scarf and matching pants, with some suggesting she looked like the Dalai Lama and others asking if she was attending a Harry Potter Quidditch match.

Leith recounted the unfortunate episode during a guest appearance on This Morning earlier today (November 22), recalling that she "felt suicidal" after posting the tweet.
"She was suicidal because of a tweet? But why is she dressed like a Gryffindor Quidditch player?" said a third.
"But you have to be a real idiot to do that".
"The Bake Off victor had been kept secret for eight years, until I come along and screwed it up". When asked by the presenters how she felt after tweeting the victor of the bake of to early she said she felt suicidal!
Most viewers, however, were distracted by the freaky burgundy and yellow outfit she wore for the interview, with one person stating: "Why was Prue Leith dressed as a Madhymaka Monk on @thismorning today?"
