Two of the company's regional airports were also honoured.
Incheon International Airport has been named the best airport in the world for the 12th year in a row in the Airport Service Quality Awards.
The trophy was formally handed over to GHIAL CEO SGK Kishore on Tuesday for the year 2016, ranking RGIA as the "world's number one airport" in the category.
Incheon Airport has decided not to participate in the ASQ Awards any longer, although it will continue to receive evaluations unofficially.
The ASQ Awards recognize airports around the globe that demonstrate a commitment to providing an excellent customer experience and they are given on the basis of passenger surveys that are supervised by ACI. "We are honoured to be recognised by ACI in this way", he notes.
Incheon Airport was given a special recognition award from ASQ to acknowledge the airport's contributions to improving airport quality around the world.
"The data obtained through the ASQ survey provides us with valuable insights that enable us to identify what our passengers' value most and what the respective airport communities need to do to achieve passenger service excellence", Maseko concludes.
